Pudhumapithan,the one who is good writing short stories. His stories has emotional and important asevts of life,both critical situation and happy moments . The author sometimes tries to change the wrong things that happening in peple's life,through his stories . Pudhumaipithan is a very good writer, in which he convey all of his thoughts in a good manner . In this story he tells about a character named PAALVANNAM PILLAI , who is a dominating person . Through this the author tries to say that there should be no male domination. Family means, a good bond and understanding between husbamd and life . But if is opposite what happens?? will be shown in the story.
            Paalvannam pillai was working in a collector office. Because of the office rules and regulations , he was scolded by higher officals and he was literally scared . He is a so adamant person,he never accepts anything even if mistake occurs on his side . He will be so rude to his family and children . He is a lion in the house but mouse in the office. They had no belief in family planning. So each year a new life(baby) will be welcomed to the family. Now they have four children. His wife is so tired and frustrated. Her children are alive because of the water given in the hospital and milk . One day paalvannam pillai had a conversation with  his friends. Paalvannam pillai tells that mexico is situated in south but his friend totally reject and says that it is not situated in south. So he came to house angrily because he was so curious to know tge right answer. Once he came to house he was searching for the book since he was in a blindful thought of seeing mexico is situated in south. On the other side wife was plannig to buy a new cow, because the children have no milk to drink. She sadly tells this news to paalvannam pillai . At this point of time he saw that mexico was situated in north,and after knowing that his guess was wrong he became so tensed and angry. In yhat situation wife was questioning about buying a cow due to the loss of milk. Paalvannam pillai angrily yelled that "My children will drink rice water and they can live". But wife didn't listen to him, she bought a calf by sacrificing her bangle for her children . Paalvannam pillai came back to house. He asked that , When this calf came? who bought this calf?. His wife said with a smiling face  that neighbour hosue member gave this calf . From that moment , he stopped drinking milk and foods related to it. On that night ariund 8 pm, paalvannam pillai and subhu koonar entered the house. Paalvannam pilali sold the calf for 30 rupees but actually it was bought for 70 rupees. Then he ordered his friend to take away this within tonight. Paalvannam pillai's wife cried and requested a lot to not sell this calf. And his son cried that "Mom my calf ". Hearing this paalvannam pillai scolded and made his son quiet.
      Because of paalvannam pillai, the good things happening in the house was destroyed . The only reason for this character of paalvannam pillai is, how could a male listen to women,or how could male be low than a woman in any situation . That is the reason paalvannam pillai sold the calf since it was the wife's idea. A women can lead a family happily and he can struggle in a lot of circumstances and overcome  the hard times. So we should consider that woman is also important in a family.
